Wedding fees

The total fees for a wedding are the combination of various other fees, some of which are statutory, and some of which are decided by the PCC.

The latest tables for statutory fees are available on the Church of England’s page for life events parochial fees and guidance.

In addition to the statutory fees, Whitkirk also by default adds charges for heating, verger and organist. Options such as the addition of bells, choir or streaming are also available, but carry extra fees (decided by the PCC).

Some members of the team may receive a fee for taking part in a wedding – St Mary’s does not make PAYE payments, and people are responsible for their own tax arrangements on any earnings.

For couples

We maintain a list of fees on our website, which is updated at least annually as fees change.

For the team

We have a wedding fee calculator tool which can be used to calculate the fee to charge for a wedding based on the addition (or not) of any extras.
