Poster boards

The Church has some large A1-sized boards for outdoor display; one folding A-frame ‘sandwich board’ and one double-sided board with a weighted base.

When swapping inserts please take care that the insert and plastic cover are properly seated underneath the corners of the frame before closing the board’s snap edges; failure to do so can damage the inserts and boards.

The back of these boards are not designed to have things stuck to them, as this can push the back board out of the frame and cause damage. You must only use these poster boards for holding full-size pre-printed artwork.

A-frame ‘sandwich board’

This board is not designed for use in windy conditions, and should be brought indoors if high winds are expected.

A security chain is available for fastening a posterboard to the lychgate if needed, but this is only intended to discourage casual theft and should not be relied on for security.

Double-sided board with weighted base

Double-sided board with weighted base

This board is more windproof than the A-frame, thanks to the weighted base. It is usually kept in the church, so it can be placed outside whenever the building is open.

Tools to help open the snap edges are kept in the tech cupboard.

Moving the board

This board has a wheeled base to help move it. Pick it up by the carry handle and tip sideways onto the wheels, then move. Do not try to pick up the board unless you are comfortable with the weight.

Inserts

Printing

All inserts for these poster boards should be printed in large format. If the insert is only designed for a single use (eg if it is only about a one-off event) then it can be printed on regular stock, but if it’s for multiple uses (eg for a recurring event or informational sign) then it should be printed on waterproof PVC a per our print standards.

Storage

All reusable inserts should be removed after use, rolled and kept in a labelled storage tube alongside the boards themselves. Do not store inserts loose.
