Ash Wednesday

Services

We usually mark Ash Wednesday with two services, both with imposition of ashes. These are:

• The usual 10.00 am said Eucharist
• An additional sung Eucharist at 7.30 pm

We do this to make sure that the largest number of people can receive the sacrament and ashes.

Tech

The 7.30 pm service is usually streamed as a festival service, with a single operator.

Ash

We traditionally produce the ash for Ash Wednesday services by burning palm crosses from the previous year. This will be stored in a container in the vestry.
