ChurchSuite
ChurchSuite is our central database of contact, calendar and booking information. It also provides some supporting functionality for taking donations and managing rotas.
If you’re looking for help with a particular process in ChurchSuite, check the playbooks.
Not everyone needs access to ChurchSuite. If your role needs access then you should have been given a user account and an introduction as part of your onboarding.
If you don’t have access but think you need it, get in touch with the Technology Team.
Why do we use ChurchSuite?
We use ChurchSuite so that we have a single place which we consider the ‘source of truth’ for:
- Information about people, including things like their contact details.
- What is happening, when and where.
- Who is using our spaces and resources.
By reducing the number of places where we store this information, we make it easier to manage.
It also has some extra functions which we use in places, but which we don’t treat ChurchSuite as the ‘source of truth’ for:
- Taking online donations.
- Managing some rotas and rota reminders.
Do I need to use ChurchSuite?
The answer is “it depends” – you do not need to use ChurchSuite – but it can probably make your life easier if you’re doing something it supports. If you’re doing anything with personal data in particular (see our Data Management Policy) you should strongly consider it.
If we already do something in ChurchSuite you must not replicate it elsewhere. Don’t start keeping a parallel list of names or bookings, for example, as this is how information becomes out of sync.
