➡️ Diverting calls
If you know you won’t be available during a certain period, or want to change how you recieve calls during certain times of day, you can use incoming call rules.
If you switch on “Forward all calls” or “Do not disturb” you won’t recieve any calls for call groups, including on-call. If you would like to divert all your calls to a mobile number, you will need to use the “Incoming calls” configuration. Check with the Head of Technology if you’re unsure.
- Sign in to BT Cloud Work. If you don’t know your sign-in details, contact the Head of Technology for help.
- Head to Settings, Phone, Incoming Call Rules.
- Choose “Add rule” in the upper right hand corner.
- You can configure working hours if needed, or choose to add a custom rule:
- Give the custom rule a name
- Choose the rules to divert based on – these could be the person calling you, the number they’re calling on (if you have multiple numbers), or the time they’re calling (including times of day or days of the week, or a date range).
- Choose how to handle incoming calls, for example:
- Diverting everything to voicemail.
- Forwarding the call to an internal extension or call queue.
- Forwarding the call to an external phone number.
- Playing an announcement and then hanging up.
