💡 Stage lights
The St Mary’s Church Whitkirk Community Centre has some stage lighting capability available in-house. This is controlled using the touchscreen in the stage right stairwell.
The touchscreen control system and the various lighting scenes available are still under development. If you think it could work better or is missing an option, please let the Technology Team know.
Using the system
The touch screen will turn itself off after a minute. To wake it back up, just touch the screen.
There is no need to switch lights or the touch screen off manually.
Switching the lights on
To switch the stage lights on, press the “Turn power on” button at the top of the screen. The lights will take a couple of seconds to finish powering up, after which you can control them.
Choosing a look
At the moment, lighting is limited to simple stage lighting and ceiling lighting. More complex looks and dancefloor effects will be coming in a future update.
Stage
The stage can be lit in a simple white colour, with adjustable brightness.
Ceiling
The ceiling can be lit either a simple white colour, or in changing colours.
At the moment you cannot adjust the colours, speed or brightness.
Switching the lights off
You can turn the stage and ceiling lights off individually by pressing the “Off” button in the respective button group.
You can turn all the lights off by pressing the “All off” button on the touchscreen.
If you don’t plan on turning them on again, the power supply can be switched off by pressing the “Turn power off” button at the top of the screen.
If the lights are unused for a period of time they will switch themselves off automatically.
Maintenance mode
If things aren’t working as expected, you can get more information about the state of the system and trigger a manual restart by pressing and holding the status bar at the bottom of the screen for five seconds. You will be prompted for a maintenance PIN – ask the Technical Team for help if you don’t know this.
